Red light in the 650 nm range is absorbed by mitochondria in hair follicle cells, increasing cellular energy (ATP) and blood flow to the scalp. This shifts dormant follicles back into their active growth phase. The mechanism is called photobiomodulation and has been studied in peer-reviewed clinical trials.
